In these two videos, he talks about the importance of telling stories to connect with the customer. We lose touch of the story that goes along with a product. In the first video, Gary talks about his dream of buying the New York Jets. He explains that his mother made a Jets sweater for him when she couldn’t afford to buy a jersey for him to play football in outside. He ponders upon the thought of how great of a story that would be: to go from not being able to afford their jerseys to buying the team.
I agree story telling is almost always lost with the product.
